Angelo is a product designer. He designed the new
Dolphin torch. He worked with other designers and an engineer to develop and test the design. Angelo studied technology subjects at high school and loved to be creative. After school he studied industrial design at the University of Western Sydney and his first job was in a graphic design company. His favourite part about designing is seeing the products he designs being used and enjoyed by people.
Angelo's career path
1993 Finished high school. Studied technical drawing as part of the HSC.
1994 Studied Industrial Design at University of Western Sydney. It was a new course and in 1998 he was one of the first students to graduate from the course.
1996 Completed a month of work experience with a graphic design company in Sydney CBD.
1997 Completed a month of work experience at Design Resource product design consultancy in Crows Nest, Sydney.
1998 Started work as a product designer at Design Resource and was still there in 2004.

Jobs you've had since finishing school: Quality inspector for cars, graphic design assistant, product designer
First job as a designer: graphic design assistant
Best thing about your job: Being able to come up with a product that is benefiting the people who use it, and seeing people appreciating and acknowledging your work.
Worst thing about your job: Doing administration like filling out time sheets.
Strangest moment on the job: Designing a Princess bedside light for Disney. I never thought I would be working on Princess stuff!
The rewards of the job: Getting acknowledgement from people who use the products, seeing the products in the stores, seeing that the product is doing well and is appreciated, I think that's the most you could ask for from your work.
